CharaSync
Saved character and product references for consistent AI stills and 15s clips.
CharaSync is a hosted image and video tool that keeps a character, person or product looking the same across new poses, outfits and scenes. You upload up to 4 reference images per saved reference, then call that reference by name in a prompt. It runs on third-party models (GPT Image for stills, Seedance 2.0 for video) rather than its own generator.

What makes CharaSync different
- 01
Reference library with up to 4 images per saved character or product, reused across projects without retraining
- 02
Reference-guided edits: name the saved character and describe the change (setting, outfit) instead of re-prompting the whole look
- 03
Uses GPT Image for stills up to 4K and Seedance 2.0 for video up to 1080p and 15s, so output quality tracks those models rather than a proprietary generator
- 04
Free plan with 50 one-time credits covers image generation for testing before paying
- 05
Failed generations are refunded automatically in credits
About CharaSync
CharaSync stores reusable character and object references and feeds them into hosted image and video models, so a recurring face, outfit or product stays recognisable without training a LoRA. The reference library is the product: you save a reference once, reuse it across projects, and describe only what changes in each prompt. Style presets (real photo, cartoon, anime) are offered on top of that.
As of October 2026 the site lists GPT Image (2.5 on the pricing and home pages, 2 in directory listings) for images up to 4K and Seedance 2.0 for video up to 1080p and 15 seconds. The site does not mention Seedance 2.5, which other vendors now offer. I found no 2026 changelog, release notes or launch announcement; the blog and FAQ URLs I tried returned 404.
For a filmmaker this is a storyboard and continuity tool, not a shot-control tool. It fits pre-visualisation, character sheets, product stills and short recurring-character clips. It does not offer camera control, lip-sync, native dialogue or an editor, so finished scenes still need an NLE. The company behind it is not identified and the terms of service are governed by the laws of mainland China, which matters for any client or studio paperwork.

Best For
✓ Ideal for
- Storyboards and pre-vis where one character must stay the same across frames
- Character sheets and recurring-character content for a web series or creator channel
- Product stills and short product clips that need the same object in every shot
- Testing character continuity before committing budget to a full video model
✗ Not built for
- Dialogue scenes that need lip-sync or native audio
- Long-form narrative or anything needing shot-level camera control
- Studio work where the production company needs a verified legal entity and clear commercial terms
Working Tips from Filmmakers Using CharaSync
- 01 Save one clean reference per angle (front, three-quarter, profile) rather than four near-identical images; the 4-image cap is better spent on variety
- 02 Use the free 50 credits to test one character across three settings before buying a pack, since Pro's 3,000 credits only renew monthly
- 03 Name each reference after the role (e.g. 'Detective_Mara'), not the actor, so prompts stay readable across a project
- 04 Do not upload photos of real people without consent; the terms prohibit it and clients will ask
