What is the QR Code Generator?
The ReelStack QR Code Generator creates QR codes for any string of data — a URL, a WiFi network, a contact card (vCard), an email, an SMS, or plain text. Codes are generated entirely in your browser using the qrcode.js library, so nothing is tracked and there's no server roundtrip.
Unlike most "free" QR generators that injection-redirect through an analytics domain, ReelStack QR codes are pure — the data you encode is exactly what scanners read. There's no tracking pixel, no expiring URL, no account requirement, and no watermark on the image. The output is a vector SVG (infinite resolution) or a PNG at any pixel size you pick.
Useful for filmmakers handing out a portfolio URL at a screening, restaurants printing menus, or anyone who needs a code on print collateral that'll still work in five years.

Questions about the QR Code Generator
Is the QR Code Generator free forever?
Yes. There's no signup, no usage cap, no watermark, and no premium upsell. The tool runs entirely in your browser — there's no server cost for us, so there's no paywall for you.
Do the QR codes expire?
No. These are 'static' QR codes — the data you encode (e.g. your URL) is embedded directly in the code's pixels. As long as that URL still works, the QR code keeps working forever. Many free generators secretly use 'dynamic' codes that redirect through their server and expire when they kill the redirect.
What can I encode?
URLs, plain text, WiFi credentials (SSID + password — phones auto-join when scanned), vCard contact info, email addresses with pre-filled subject/body, SMS messages, phone numbers, and geographic coordinates. The data limit is ~2,953 characters (binary mode).
PNG or SVG — which should I pick?
SVG for print, signage, or anything that might be resized. It's a vector — sharp at any size. PNG for screens, slides, social posts, or anywhere you want a specific pixel resolution. Both are unwatermarked.
Can I customize colors or add a logo?
You can change the foreground and background colors. Logo-in-the-middle isn't supported yet — it requires error-correction-level tweaking that we'll add in a future update.
