MCP Server and CLI Enable Automated Character Video Generation in AI Agents

The new developer tools allow creators to trigger character video synthesis directly from AI coding environments like Cursor and Claude Desktop, as well as custom agentic pipelines. This update shifts Hedra from a strictly web-based editor into an engine for programmatic, local video generation.

Hedra's open-source MCP server exposes its character video generation capabilities as standard tools for LLM agents. Anthropic's Model Context Protocol lets AI assistants query APIs, execute local scripts, and manage video assets using structured function calls.

By installing the package via npm or running the standalone CLI tool, developers can pass audio files, target image prompts, and script parameters directly to Hedra's Character-1 engine. The CLI supports local command-line batch operations, while the MCP server enables conversational coding tools to write scripts, generate matching character visuals, and render complete video clips without leaving the code editor.
