Krea 2 RAW and Turbo Models Arrive in ComfyUI

Krea released the open-source weights for its Krea 2 RAW and Krea 2 Turbo models, enabling native integration within ComfyUI node-based environments. This update allows creators to bypass web-based subscriptions and run Krea’s aesthetic-focused architectures on local hardware.

ComfyUI

ComfyUI added support for the Krea 2 open-source models, allowing users to run the Krea 2 RAW and Krea 2 Turbo checkpoints within their local node-based workflows. This integration brings Krea’s specific aesthetic tuning and high-speed generation capabilities to the desktop, providing an alternative to the platform's proprietary web interface.

What's new

Krea released two distinct model weights for use in ComfyUI as of late 2024. The Krea 2 RAW model focuses on high-fidelity photographic output, designed to minimize the over-processed look often found in base SDXL or early Flux.1 Dev generations. It prioritizes texture accuracy and realistic lighting for professional photography use cases.

In contrast, the Krea 2 Turbo model is optimized for speed and low-latency generation. This model is capable of near-instant image updates, making it suitable for real-time sketching or interactive design sessions. Both models are compatible with standard ComfyUI loaders, though they benefit from specific LoRA and control net configurations optimized for the Krea architecture.

How it fits your workflow

For digital artists and concept designers, the addition of Krea 2 to ComfyUI offers a significant shift in how high-end aesthetics are achieved. Previously, creators seeking the "Krea look" were restricted to a paid cloud subscription. By moving these models into ComfyUI, editors can now combine Krea’s photographic rendering with advanced tools like IP-Adapter, ControlNet, and custom upscaling pipelines.

This update positions Krea 2 as a direct competitor to Flux.1 and SDXL-based fine-tunes within the open-source ecosystem. While Flux.1 Pro currently leads in prompt adherence and text rendering, Krea 2 RAW offers a specific cinematic texture that many photographers prefer for portraiture and product visualization. The Turbo variant serves as a viable alternative to LCM (Latent Consistency Models) or SDXL Turbo, providing a more refined visual style during the rapid prototyping phase of a project. VFX artists can use these models to generate high-resolution environment plates or texture maps without the data privacy concerns associated with cloud-based AI tools.

What it costs / how to try it

The Krea 2 RAW and Turbo models are open-source and free to download for local use in ComfyUI. Users can find the model weights on Hugging Face or via the ComfyUI Manager to begin integrating them into their existing workflows.
